Kitchen Guerrilla - Devil Stir Fry Sauce
This isn’t your traditional sweet and mildly spiced Sri Lankan devil sauce. This is the Toronto Tamil devil sauce!
Here’s the story. Tamils love their food spicy! The flavours are very forward and the experience is a soul-awakening one. Toronto is one of the biggest hubs for diaspora Tamils and you’ll find that in Toronto, some of our food has been influenced by other ethnic ingredients as well. The devil dish is one of them! Traditionally made with beef short ribs or chunks of mutton which has been deep/pan fried first, then cooked further in a pan with the chefs secret choice of sauces and spices! Ketchup is the one ingredient that isn’t secret to a devil, a true devil must contain this ingredient as it brings out a mild sweetness and rounded flavour when combined with the other ingredients!
This sauce is a MUST HAVE for the spice lover and one of our favourites!
